NCGS CRM vs. the Big Names: Where the Difference Actually Is
Put four contractor CRMs side by side and the feature lists all sound the same: leads, bids, invoices, scheduling. They should — that's the job. The real differences hide in the second line of every pricing card: what gets charged extra, what runs on a meter, and what was never built for a contractor in the first place.
Here's where ours parts company with the big names.
One price covers your whole crew
Jobber and Housecall Pro charge per seat. Every person who opens the app is another line on the bill — on their published pricing, extra users run $29 a month each on one, and $75–$100 a month each on the other. A five-person company isn't paying the price on the banner. It's paying five prices, and it goes up every time you hire.
NCGS CRM is priced per company: $89, $169, or $299 a month. On Pro and White Glove the price is flat — your office help, your crew leads, your part-timer who clocks in twice a week, every login included, and adding a hire in your busiest month doesn't move the bill a dollar. Starter covers one person, with up to two more at $25 a month each — still per company, still published, still no meter running.
Measuring that doesn't charge you by the report
The big measuring names sell roof and gutter reports one at a time — every house you measure is another charge, and the meter runs whether you win the job or not. Measure twenty houses in a storm week and you've bought the software twice over in report fees.
Satellite measuring is built into NCGS CRM's plans. Trace the roof or the gutter runs, get your totals, turn it into a bid — as many houses as you want, no per-report fee. There's also a printed roof report with a labeled diagram, branded with your company name, not ours.
Built for the trades, not adapted to them
Most CRMs were built for any service business — plumbers, cleaners, lawn care — and contractors get the generic version. NCGS CRM started as a gutter company's own system, so the bid sheets speak your language: gutters priced by the foot, and full estimate sheets for roofing, siding, painting, and the other trades.
And because the people behind it run a gutter supply company, the chain doesn't stop at the bid. Your takeoff becomes a pick list — elbows, hangers, miters, coil — figured in whole units, ready to order. Bid, materials, and job in one system instead of three.
The follow-up work is included, not an add-on
Ask around about the big names and two complaints come up again and again: the price you signed up at isn't the price you're paying two years later, and every useful extra — a report here, an integration there, an AI tool over there — carries its own fee. One well-known name charges $99 a month by itself for an AI receptionist add-on.
In NCGS CRM, the money-making extras are just in the plan: automatic follow-ups that chase your open bids on day 2, day 7, and day 21; a review request that goes out on its own when a job is paid in full; per-job profit, so you can see what a job actually made; Good-Better-Best bid options; and Anna, an in-app helper who answers your crew's questions and walks them through the work, included on Pro plans and up. Bid sheets can even go out in your customer's language — six languages, built in, free.
A trial that starts when you do
Most trials start counting the day you sign up — including the days you were too busy to open the app — and bill you the moment the days run out. Ours is the top plan, free for 30 days, and the 30 days don't start until your first actual login. A card is required at sign-up, but nothing is charged during the trial — you pick your plan before it ends, and if you pick nothing you roll into a half-price deal on the top plan instead of a surprise full-price charge.
The honest fine print
We're a gutter supply company in Oklahoma, not a Silicon Valley software firm, and this is our CRM — of course we think it's the better deal. So don't take our word for it. We published the full side-by-side, our prices next to theirs, feature by feature: https://northcentralguttersupply.com/crm-compare/ — competitor figures are their published list prices as of October 2026, and they'll tell you to check their pages for current terms, same as we do.
Then start the free trial and run one real job through it: https://northcentralguttersupply.com/app/crm/trial/
The best CRM is the one your whole crew actually uses without the bill punishing you for it. That's the one we built.
